About Us.
The Ratkaj Foundation For Cats is a Pennsylvania nonprofit dedicated to the welfare of cats across Central PA. We provide food, shelter, veterinary care, and Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) support — through our own hands-on work, through the established advocates we fund in surrounding communities, and through education and resources for those who reach out to us seeking help.
We also serve as a trusted resource for our township’s police department and Animal Control Officer. When a community cat complaint comes in and animal control needs a knowledgeable partner, they call us. We show up.
Whether the need comes through a neighbor’s phone call, an animal control referral, or an advocate in need of funding for their next surgery — we go where the cats are.
Hands-On TNR Response
We trap, neuter, and return community cats ourselves — and we’re a go-to resource for our township’s Animal Control Officer when cat-related complaints require an experienced response. When the call comes in, we answer.
Advocate Funding & Support
There are dedicated people across Central PA already doing TNR work every day — on their own time, with their own resources. We provide them with funding for surgeries, trapping supplies, and access to low-cost veterinary care so they can do even more.
Cat Welfare & Emergency Needs
Beyond TNR, we help with the everyday needs of pet cats, as well as, community cats: food, shelter, and veterinary care. If a cat in your area needs help and you don’t know who to call, start with us.

Current Initiatives
We are actively identifying and supporting dedicated TNR advocates in Central Pennsylvania — people already out there doing the work who need resources to do more. If that's you, or you know someone like that, reach out. And if you'd like to fuel this work financially, every $40 covers one complete surgery.
